A tech Billionaire (Dennis Quaid) hires a brilliant computer scientist (Isabelle Fuhrman) to work at an isolated facility run by the brilliant creator of a machine which can communicate with alien intelligence. The team soon learn some humanity-altering facts: that we are not alone in the universe, and that alien intelligence is communicating around us at every moment. But when the goal of the endeavor shifts from listening to talking back, the project rapidly devolves into chaos. With contact comes consequences that threaten the very survival of our species.
