Based on William Brinkley’s best-selling novel, The Last Ship chronicles a global catastrophe that nearly decimates the world’s population. Season 2 opens with Captain Chandler (Eric Dane), XO Slattery (Adam Baldwin) and the rest of the crew aboard the Navy destroyer USS Nathan James working to disseminate the cure developed by paleomicrobiologist Dr Rachel Scott (Rhona Mitra). As soon as they arrive back on U.S. soil, however, they face new threats in the form of a new world order under the leadership of Granderson (Alfre Woodward) and a mysterious new enemy, The Immunes, bent on taking over the world.
The Last Ship comes to TNT from blockbuster-filmmaker Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes and its partners, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form. Bay, Fuller and Form serve as executive producers; along with creator-show runners Hank Sternberg and Steven Kane; and director Jack Bender.
